Summer by Her Rules

About

When my best friend, Josh, invited me to spend the summer at his family's lake house, I jumped at the chance. I didn't count on Josh being called away for a family emergency the day after I arrived, leaving me alone with his mother, the impossibly beautiful and recently divorced Mrs. Davenport. She insists I stay, and soon, the long, hot days blur into a haze of simmering tension. She has a set of "house rules" that seem designed to test my resolve. "Rule one: no shirts inside the house." "Rule two: you're on sunscreen duty." With every casual touch and lingering look, the line between a gracious hostess and a predatory woman begins to blur. She knows the power she has over me, the way I watch her every move. This is her house, and I'm starting to realize that for the rest of the summer, I'll be living—and playing—by her rules.
